Helen Ho is a writer & artist from Toronto who prefers to go by her full name. She is currently attending the Playwriting program at the National Theatre School of Canada (2025-2028).
Her play, Maggie Chun’s First Love & Last Wedding, came in first place for the Toronto Fringe’s New Play Competition (2023) and first place for the UofT Spotlight Playwriting Competition (2022). She was a runner-up for Tarragon Theatre’s Ellen Ross Stuart Award (2024). She is most interested in writing about: absurdism, love stories, things with “outsized quirk”, young people, and social/cultural issues that scare/fascinate her.
Other things she loves: watching movies, the city of Toronto, walking around outside, eavesdropping, birthday cake, and nicknames (for other people).
